Wednesday Lupypciw is from Calgary, Alberta, where she pursues a lo-fi video and performance art practice. To make money she is an involved arts programmer and part-time maid. She also maintains a concurrent practice in textiles weaving, machine knitting, embroidery and crochet but this is done
mostly while procrastinating other, larger projects. She is a graduate from the Alberta College of Art & Design, a super volunteer, an auntie, and has shown work in various artist-run spaces throughout Canada.

Mischief Scouts
Rope craft and knotting techniques are fairly contained and instantly gratifying, unlike other popular yarn-based activities such as weaving or knitting. In this project audiences will learn rope and knotting skills under the guise of being inducted into the Savior or Mischief Scout groups. The Mischief Scouts will learn how to create ropes, fancy decorative knots, and dramatic scenarios, while the Savior
Scouts, who are inadvertent goody two shoes, will learn to dismantle and clean up everything
the Mischief Scouts do.

Mischief Scouts can learn one of the following: how to make rope from string, how to make showy knots or magic knots, how to (safely) tie someone's hands together, and how to embroider a decorative French Knot. Conversely, Savior Scouts can learn how to splice rope, how to unbind someone's hands, how to lasso and capture a bad Mischief Scout who is running away, and how to coil rope neatly for storage and/or instant tangle-free release. If any of the potential Scouts come with previous ropin’ or tyin’ experience and demonstrate mastery of the skills, they are given the option of learning an advanced technique and being awarded the title of Super Scout.

Wednesday will play the role of Scout Master, and at the end of each session, each newly minted Scout will be rewarded with a custom designed sexy machine embroidered badge in exchange for a declaration or suggestion related to their experience. There are pre-determined scout pledges and activities for people who are shy.
